MARTIN HOUSE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE PRESENTS: CENTRE STAGE 2016 – THE FINAL (press release)

It's year seven of Martin House Children's Hospice's prestigious music competition for young, Yorkshire bands and musicians. In April, three nights of heats and a music industry panel decided 2016’s finalists who are now set to perform at O2 Academy Leeds on Wednesday 27th July: ten stunning and diverse acts competing for a place at Leeds AND Reading 2016. Winners also win a music video by local film makers, Shot by Sodium.

The night will be opened by last year’s winners, York three piece, The Mallrats, and will include a collaboration with Rock School UK.

2016’s final is set to provide a platform for an impressive spectrum of genres and talent, from 13 to 21 years old. They will be judged by a high profile, industry panel, including Jon McIldowie (Festival Republic), Mike Heaton and Mickey Dale (Embrace) and Ross Jarman (The Cribs). The evening will be hosted by local Music Producer, Ed Heaton.

The competition has now raised in excess of £200,000 for the charity, which has been channelled directly towards the care of the children, young people and their families at Martin House Children’s Hospice. Overall, the competition is about young people helping young people.

The Final will be held on Wednesday 27th July at O2 Academy, Leeds. Doors 6pm. Show starts 7pm. Tickets available at https://www.academymusicgroup.com/o2academyleeds/ at £7.50/£5.50 (concs). The event will also be pay on the door.
